Looks like they're still tweaking the itinerary for South England Villages. The one that came in our email yesterday is different from the one we downloaded from the portal. The changes are all in Cornwall. We had been looking forward to Chysauter, the Minack Theatre, and the Merry Maidens, but St Michael's Mount sounds interesting. I won't be surprised if more changes are in store, since this is the inaugural tour. A work in progress, as it were.
It sounds like a fascinating tour. I decided to wait for a year or so (hopefully it will continue) and then take it. Enjoy!
I walked out to St Michaels mount when I was in Cornwall a few years ago. It's interesting and connected to Mont San Michel. There's a fortress or castle on top. There were other people there but it was not mobbed---rather low key.
I think St. Michaels Mount is amazing!!! I was there several years ago and it was kind of like a fairy tale place. I took the tour and when I looked out of one of the windows it reminded me of a scene from the original Dark Shadows, the waves were beating against the rocks!!! Our tour didn't make the tide turning so had to take a duck boat back. I'm a retired teacher and thought it was amazing that the kids that lived in the small village had to be brought home from school before a bad storm. I thought snow days were great!!!!! I thought it was very worthwhile to see.
