My Way Alps July

Hi all we have our final hotels and details for our trip less than one month out woo hoo!
two questions based on where we will actually be staying on this trip
1. Bolzano instead of Castelrotto did you just stay around Bolzano or travel to Castelrotto to Alpe di Suisse
2.Murren not Lauterbrunnen Same question want to see the waterfalls and hike but

Thanks we are a family of four so looking forward to showing granddaughter the Alps.

Hi. It has been about 10 years since I took this trip - time I signed up again!

Our tour stayed in Bolzano. I was tuckered out so I stayed in town while most of the group went together to Alpe di Suisse. I regret my decision. Bolzano can be very warm in summer. I believe you will enjoy the location whichever choice you make. There is a small funicular close to the center of town that takes you up to Oberbozen where you can walk around, if you prefer to stay closer to the town. Not seeing the high meadows now gives me motivation for a return visit!

Mürren is, in my opinion, the better location to stay over in. The views cannot fail to impress. You can easily take the cable car down and get to see the falls. I have stayed in both towns and have been happy in both, but I loved the views from my Mürren hotel.

Have a wonderful trip!

I took this tour in 2022.

  1. We stayed in Castelrotto and had to take a bus to Alpe di Siusi, which I'm certain is similar from Bolzano. It's a beautiful part of Italy, there's plenty to do and see! Your RS guide will be able to tell you exactly when/where/which bus, etc...they are extremely helpful on the trip!

  2. We stayed in Lauterbrunnen, but Murren is stunning! I've wanted to go back ever since for a stay in Murren. It's easy to get down to Lauterbrunnen to see the waterfalls. You can even hike down from Murren, if you want to.

Happy travels!
