I’m signed up for this tour in April, what can you tell me about it?
Anything I should sign up for that is not included in the tour,
Thanks, Nancy

I went on this tour, there is nothing to sign up for. There are no other activities that RS has you sign up for during the tour. Unless you want to go to an opera or concert during your time in Munich, Salzburg or Vienna, then on a free evening you can purchase tickets to see something at the State Opera in Vienna or a concert at a church in any of the cities. You can go on line and check out what is playing during the time your there in April. I was in Vienna twice after the GAS tour and the Munich, Salzburg Vienna tour, I went an opera at the Volksopera and I went to several concerts. There is plenty of concerts in all the cities. You can buy your tkts in advance or wait until your there. I bought my tkts all advance but I was staying afterwards in Vienna for four days each time.

Also, think about why you signed up for this particular itinerary. Surely something spoke to you about it!
Set out to learn more about the places you will visit by looking at guidebooks from your library, for example.
There are lots of ideas for things to do in your free time. Your tour kit will be made available within 30 days of your deposit and you will be able to order the various guidebooks. I would plan to arrive a day or two before the tour begins.

I'm going on this tour and arriving 2 days early in Munich. I'm packing and watching the weather.
I think spring will be a lovely season to visit this area.

Enjoy!

My husband and I took this tour in June 2019 and loved it. Before leaving, we made reservations to attend a string quartet concert at the Mirabell Palace in Salzburg. The music was outstanding and the venue was exquisite - highly recommend. We also were able to get some tickets for a concert at the Musikverein in Vienna with the Vienna Philharmonic. We really had to work at getting these tickets (highly competitive), but this concert was a musical highlight of a lifetime.

I signed up for this tour in April, 2020. I was disappointed to learn that Neuschwanstein Castle is no longer on the tour-- so, we are arriving a day earlier and taking the train to Fussen to see the castle early the next morning. Then we will take the train back to Munich to meet the RS tour the following afternoon.

I second the recommendation for the concert at the Mirabelle Palace. We went this past May, the hall is beautiful and the musicians excellent. It was a wonderful experience.
