I'm planning on doing the Alpine Europe in 12 Days in 2026. The tour starts in Salzburg & ends in Chaminox. I'm asking for suggestions on how to travel to & from the the starting & ending cities. I can fly British Air to Heathrow, then take a bus to Gatwick to catch a flight to Salzburg. I hope I can take a bus from Chamonix to Geneva to catch a flight back. Am I on track with these choices or are there better ways to connect & fly? I'll likely stay 2 or 3 extra days in Geneva, so if anyone has hotel recommendations, please chime in.
What is your home airport?
I would try to find a connection that does not involve changing airports.
An alternative to Salzburg could be flying into Munich and taking the train to Salzburg.
It is 90 minutes by train from Munich to Salzburg, and 90 minutes by bus from Chamonix to Geneva. Both Munich and Geneva have excellent connections to the US.
Flying in to Munich & taking train to Salzburg is the solution. Thanks! Our tiny airport in western Colorado has limited flights, so we must fly out of Denver.
Mountain Dropoffs shuttle will take you from the tour hotel in Chamonix to the Geneva airport. I did it and it was easy. Your RS tour account will give you transportation options to Salzburg and from Chamonix.
You will love this tour, I did!
