Hello! I'm interested in recommendations on tour companies you have liked if you love Rick Steves Tours for travel in Morrocco, other places in Africa, Asia and South America. I ususally need a company that offers many tours (like Rick Steves) instead of just a handful because of my work schedule. Thanks for your input.
Edited to add that I am only interested in tour companies, not a customozed trip - because I am a solo traveller and want to travel with a group. I like that Rick Steves has group activities and some meals together etc but also plenty of time to do your own thing. I'll usually add a few days on either side of a tour for my own thing as well. THANKS AGAIN!

I haven't been on any Rick Steves tours, but I've done three with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) -- Egypt, Southeast Asia and former Yugoslavia -- and like them a lot. They go all over the world.

We have been to Africa three times, the last two times (most recently this past fall), we have used Africa Adventure Consultants.

We have given them the information we wanted to include (i.e.Giraffe Manor which needs to be reserved one-two years in advance), some locations, some hotels and then worked with them filling in all the rest. They have been terrific to work with. You tour on your own, but they arrange everything and their local partners really take care of you. We give them the highest recommendation for Africa.

Like Slate, I haven’t been on a Rick Steves tour, but have gone with OAT on an African safari, and am signed up with them for a Middle East trip at the end of the year (if conditions allow that trip to happen). I wholeheartedly recommend OAT. Their prices are good, too. Rick’s trips are advertised as having smaller groups on each tour than most companies, and OAT’s are even smaller. Another potential tour company to consider that has a big variety of tours to is Road Scholar.
Part of our Morocco trip exactly 5 years ago (January 2019) was done on our our own - in Marrakech and Fes - but for a desert excursion, we had a 5-day private tour with Desert Majesty.
