May Day Village Italy Tour? Anyone out there?

Hey, My name is Lori. My Mom, sister and I will all be going on the Village Italy Tour starting on May 1, 2017. Is there anyone else out there who will be on this same tour? If so I'd love to get to know you a little bit. Also, do you have any plans before or after the tour? We are counting down the days and cannot wait to go on a new adventure!

I did this tour a couple of years ago. It's a great trip and lots of fun. We stayed in Venice for a couple of days prior to the tour and went to Padua the day of the tour. I would suggest getting to Padua a day early or early on the first day of the tour. There's actually a fare amount to see and do there. Restaurants seemed better and cheaper than Venice. After the tour we spent a day in Milan before heading home.

The olive oil at the cooperative that you visit is wonderful. I brought back a couple of cans of it. At Deruta you'll have a chance to see ceramic plates and pottery being made. Many people bought things there.

Have a great trip and feel free to pm with questions.

Dear Rocket,

Thank you for your response. We are quite excited for the trip! We have quite a few places we plan to visit before the tour starts. We are going into Rome and plan to check out some of the sights, then we will be going to the Amalfi coast. After that we will be returning to Padua and using that as a jumping off spot to visit some of the surrounding towns including Venice. After the trip we will be flying out of Milan. A couple of years ago we went on Rick Steves Best of Europe in 21 days, so we saw a few of the towns. My sister also stayed in Venice for a semester, so she is looking forward to returning to some of the surrounding towns.

From the BOE tour we saw more of the cities, so I am excited to see some of the villages and hopefully see more of the Italian culture! I am really looking forward to the food as well!

Hi Lori! Don't log onto the forums very often, so just saw your post. My husband and I will be on this tour and VERY MUCH looking forward to it also! We also went on a BOE 21-day tour a couple years ago. Our plans before and after tour are visiting our son and daughter-in-law in Naples. His last year (Navy) before they are shipped back home, so we wanted to make sure we got one more visit before they leave.
