I tried to search tours looking for a tour on the basis of the dates I have available. Is there an easy way to do this, or do I really have to search through each destination?
In the tour section, click on Search by Departure Date. The list is still by tour, so click to sort on the column "Begin". This compiles all tours into a list by their start date.
Thank you so much! This answers my question and has made searching so much easier.
If anyone else want to check out the sortable list, here's a link:

What a cool little tool !!!
Thanks Jane, Andrea, and Carol.
I had no idea this even existed! Not that I've ever spent much time looking at specific tour dates...
You can sort by (1) name of tour (in A-Z alphabetical order; click on 'Tour Description' to change to Z-A order), (2) 'Begin' date, (3) 'End' date, (4) 'Price', and (5) 'Status' (Available, Waitlist, or Full). All of those allow you to click on the heading to reverse the order...And above that heading, there are drop-down boxes that allow you to choose by year and by month. Very handy, RSE.
Yes, if you want to look at 'Heart of Portugal' tours it's a bit of scrolling to go upwards (alphabetically) from Z-A/'Villages of South England'...but waaaay faster than scrolling downwards (alphabetically) from A-Z/'Athens and the Heart of Greece'.
I forgot to add that you can even search all of the tours by Length of Trip - very handy. Nifty-neato.
Enjoy your search, Carol!
Isn't it a shame that wonderful tools such as this one are often embedded so deeply in a website that they are often only discovered by accident? Thanks for posting the question Carol and thanks to those who knew about this search tool.
Laura at the RSE office put the link on a thread I had started, looking for tours in a specific month. So thank you, Laura and RSE. I agree, this tool should be better known and more easily available.
Eileen, where do you find "Length of Trip?" Than one could be really useful for those of us (almost all of us) who have limited time for trips.
On the tour website you can choose Search under 'find a tour' and put in the number of days you're looking for under 'length of tour' and it will bring up any tours within that number of days. However you can't combine this search option with the listing by departure date - one or the other but not both together. If you want to search by departure date you just need to look at the tour description to see the length of the tour, it's pretty easy to pick out the ones of the length you're interested in.
Jane, here's a link to the main Tours page; click on 'Search' (right next to 'Browse').
This page may look differently to some, depending on what device you're using and whether you're using it in Landscape or Portrait view...
I thank all of you posters for this valuable information! It makes "searching" for a tour so much easier!
Thanks, Eileen and Nancy. I'm going to "cut and paste" a copy of this page so I'll have it when we're tour shopping.
