For those who have gotten a mail in renewal in the last month or so have you found the time stated on the site to be fairly accurate? Ie: 5-7 weeks etc. thx

They have been backlogged.
I applied in mid January and it said 3-5 weeks. Then a couple of weeks later 5-7 weeks. It arrived exactly six weeks after they received it.
Give yourself extra time.

My daughter got hers back two weeks ago. It took 5 weeks from her mail-in date to receiving it back, so maybe they are catching up.

My wife and youngest renewed their passports the week before the COVID shutdown in March 2020 - it took ten months. We renewed our older son's passport last summer - that took three months. Both were expedited.
It sounds like they are improving expedited turnaround time.

The newsletter from our Congressman just said to allow 11-12 weeks.
