My husband and I are taking the Loire to the South of France tour this spring. The tour ends in Nice. We’d like to take a few days at the end of the tour to see more of that general region of France. Do you have any suggestions for a 2-3 day stay not too far from Nice. We like the beach and the mountains. Looking for a place without large crowds. Thanks!

We spent two weeks on our second trip to Nice. Our favorite day trips were to Cap Ferat with Villa Ephrussi and Antibes. You could stay in either of them. Or, go up in the hills to Vence.
You could also rent a car and drive to Noli on the Italian Riviera, not far.

We did this tour last May and stayed in Nice for a few extra days. On one of our extra days we visited Menton which is along the coast. For me it was a bit dull, but if you're looking for beach and smaller crowds it may do the trick.
Hope you enjoy this tour as much as I did. It was outstanding.
