Laundry on Portugal Tour?

I just posed this question on the Travel Forum and thought it might be a good idea to ask it on the Tour Forum as well. Will there be a stop on the Portugal tour where we will be able to do a quick load of laundry? Thanks for any advice!

Hi Martha,
I was on the Portugal tour in 2022, and while there was no organized laundry stop, we were able to wash clothes in Coimbra. We took a taxi to a very nearby self service laundromat (while close, it would have been too far of a walk with laundry and up a hill) the taxi driver gave us his number and picked us up when we were finished.
We organized it through the front desk of our hotel.
You will have a really good time, it’s a great tour. I hope that you get Fatima as a tour guide, she’s fabulous and a lot of fun.

Thanks, Cheryl we’ve had laundry recommendations from guides on previous tours and were hoping that it would be the same for Potential. We did hear that Fatima was a great guide. We will have Maria. Posters who have had her in the past say that she’s well-versed in Portuguese food and gives excellent restaurant recommendations. We appreciate your response.

Ah, Stacy! I was hoping to run into a fellow tour member (and a fellow Northeasterner to boot!) We’ll be arriving at the hotel on the morning of the 24th. Looking forward to meeting you!

I was on the Portugal tour that ended on Sept 8. Neither the Óbidos or Coimbra 2 night hotels offered a concierge laundry service, I did ask. The Coimbra hotel showed me on a map the locations of two self service laundrymats nearby. However I was too busy enjoying my free time to do laundry. By the time we got to the Douro Valley and Porto, I had given up and wore my airplane cloths around town, RS style. You will love the tour I am sure, safe travels.

Our Portugal tour ended September 8th, but we stayed in Porto a couple of extra days. The hotel in Porto offered laundry service (for a fee, of course) and we took advantage of it! During the trip, I didn't really think there was a good time to do a load of laundry in a self service laundromat; we were so busy and didn't want to spend the time doing laundry. We ended up washing a few things like socks and underwear, and quick-dry pants/shirts that would dry overnight in a hotel room along the way. If you really wanted to, however, there was a laundromat really close to the My Story Tejo Hotel in Lisbon. Have fun on your trip! It was amazing!
