Has anyone been on this tour recently and know if there is a hotel that does your laundry for you or that has laundry services. TIA.
While I have no direct knowledge of this tour, the hotels are not always the same for every group, so the information you get here can be unreliable. Some hotels have guest facilities and there are laundromats in some towns and cities, often within walking distance. Some folks share a cab on laundry days.
Yes, I have been on lots of tours so was just curious of anyone that had some recent knowledge. I don’t like to do Laundry in my free time, and love when you pay the hotel to do it for you.
It was several years ago for us. They don't always use the same hotels, for one thing. But the hotel in Mürren (Hotel Jungfrau) did it for us. We looked for a stay that was more than 2 nights so as to give them ample time to get it back to us. My tip is to have your bag ready to turn in the day you check in so its ready for them the next morning. But its best to ask this question of the tour leader when you have the first orientation meeting.
Thanks, I just looked at our itinerary and it shows that same hotel and per the internet still does laundry. Perfect!
The Hotel Bellevue in Murren has the only laundramat in town [ a "Wash Salon"] . It's 10 CHF total or a washer and dryer load.
I took this tour in Fall 2019 and only recall seeing a couple of laundromats during the entire trip. Our tour guide didn't really mention them and I should have asked. Because most of my clothes are cold wash delicate and hang dry, it's difficult for me to trust others with my laundry. I brought my Scrubba bag and did my own laundry for the entire trip.
Took this tour several years ago and there was a hotel laundry service at one of the hotels. I have found that you can ask the guide at the beginning of the tour what laundry services are available along the way. Enjoy your trip-it is a great tour.
I did this tour in 2019. As another poster mentioned, the Hotel Bellevue (down the road from the Hotel Jungfrau where we stayed) had the little laundromat behind the hotel. Having 3 nights in Murren, it was plenty of time to do laundry myself (wash and dry) and have time to air dry things as well. The rest of the trip was sink/tub laundry, so it was nice to have one real laundry experience in the middle of the trip!
We did this tour in 2014.. we only did sink laundry… several of the hotels had heated towel bars..they came in very handy for laundry.. The GAS was one of our favorite tours..
We are going on the My Way Alpine tour in August. Yesterday around 4:00 I rinsed out two tops I want to take to test to see if they would dry over night.. They were almost totally dry before we went to bed..
my husband insists on taking his jeans one day when hiked in Murren it had rained the night before and his jeans got muddy on the bottom we hand washed them and they were a challenge to dry.. they willnot go on the alpine tour.. lol…we each took an extra pair of old running shoes and when they were muddy we washed them off and donated them.. they were not returning home.
You will love this tour.
