This will be our 4th RS tour and our first in spring. This will be our first time in Portugal so any tips are always appreciated. We plan to arrive 3 days early but have to get home on the last day. Looking forward to chatting with any fellow tour members who want to post.

It's great that you plan to arrive 3 days before the tour.
Do consider going to Sintra and Cascais!

We did this tour in September 2016, our 1st RS tour. We complete our 4th tour this past May. We arrived a few days early and spent 2 nights at Chalet Saudade in Sintra which I would highly recommend. Sintra is one of those towns which is so much nicer before and after the day tourists descend on the town. We were able to be on the first bus in the morning up to the palace and we spent the rest of the morning visiting sites and walking back down to town. Loved the tour.

We haven’t figured out our pre-trip. Now that we’re retired, we usually go 3-5 days early.

I'm going in October of 2020. I hope to read about your tour experience. I usually try to arrive at least 2-3 days before a tour starts but this time I will be finishing up the RS Best of Spain tour a day before the Heart of Portugal trip starts. Happy travels everyone!

This sad news is our tour is now full and we have two fellow traveling companions on the wait list? Just keeping our fingers crossed that they can make the tour with us.
