Hotels/BB's in London

Hi all--
I will be going on the BOL tour next Apr/May and want to stay a few extra days in London, but I would like to find a quiet boutique type hotel or BB near an area centrally located for walking and exploring. I also want to look into a day trip out to the Cotswolds if anyone knows of a local guide that I can check out. I will be staying in the Rick Steve's hotel a couple of nights prior to the tour starting, but would like to switch it up for a few days after. Thank you for your great insight and advice.

Middle of the road, not budget, but not top tier luxury prices either. I am more interested in location and a quaint type of place. Breakfast is a must and I am a single traveler, so my own bathroom is good too.

Please help us help you. Is your middle of the road £250/night or £400/night or ???

Yes, somewhere between 250 and 350 per night, I know London is expensive, but I don't need luxury, nor do I enjoy super budget either, so if there are suggestions for somewhere in that price range that fits that description please share. I am hoping to find a quaint B&B if possible. I am hoping someone has a little hidden gem to share.

Not a quaint b&b, but The Bailey's Hotel in South Kensington is a lovely hotel right across the street from the Gloucester Road Underground Station which serves the District, Circle and Piccadilly lines. You're in walking distance to the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Natural History Museum. Kensington Gardens and more.

I stayed there in March traveling solo in a classic double room for about £169/night without breakfast. The service was great, the room was very comfortable and came with a Nespresso machine and fridge.

Hotel 63 was recommended to me by forum when I was going to London for the first time.

Across the street from Kensington Gardens and a block away from very good public transportation.

It is quaint and historic, I think only 16 rooms.

Good wi fi and small but adequate breakfast.

The Lime Tree hotel (Rick Steves recommended). Breakfast is not included, but the have a great little restaurant on site, and a great place right across the street.

I enjoyed my stay last year at the Sanctuary House Hotel and plan to stay there again.

For me, it’s the perfect location as it’s so easy to walk to many of the main sights. Sure, you can stay anywhere and take the tube. But, I like to step outside the hotel and already be somewhere. The hotel is right near St. James’ Park and I was there most days to relax and watch the pelicans.
