Hotel Mercure in Nice

Is anyone else having problems getting them to respond to email enquiries about the rate per night for continuing a further 2 nights following the end of the Rick tour, Loire & South of France? I really don't want to call if I can avoid.

just a wee thought - no chance that a reply might have found its way into your junk folder?

Thanks, Nigel, but that is always where I check first. However, a good reminder.

Hotel Mercure is part of the Accor Group. Just go online and do a booking, you will get the rates. If you are looking for the rates that tours like Rick Steves has via contract, you probably need to call the Rick Steves Tours and see what they can arrange.

Yes, I have checked my Accor website to see if there is another contact other than what Rick's folks provide & to check what their online rate is. I have also contacted Rick Steves' tours, but they are pretty backed up and was hoping I could get feedback to see if other forum members had the same issue and what they did about it.

We stayed there last May at the end of our RSE Loire Valley tour; nice place, great location right on the beach. There are some excellent restaurants within walking distance.

it might be just as easy to book the extra nights yourself and go from there. We have had to do that ourselves a few times.

To finalize this. The tour office had no suggestion other than to call them directly. So, Instead I booked at Hotel Victor Hugo which the guidebook recommends. It has only 7 rooms in an old mansion, serves breakfast and is on a pleasant looking street. The proprietor has been a delight to correspond with and I am looking forward to meeting his precious dog, Cossette. So, all's well that ends well.
