Love, love, loved it! Beautiful, informative to the 10th degree and made difficult to get to places, easy.

We’ve done 9 tours and the Greece tour ranks in the top 4, definitely. Our tour guide, British Maria, was top notch and helped us understand both ancient and modern Greece. The sights were so varied and gorgeous. The reviews you read about the tour aren’t telling you falsehoods. Most everyone loves the Greece tour. I loved the food but I’m not a picky eater. Hope you try it!

We took this tour in 2010 and loved it very much. The food was simple and delicious and of course the ancient sites were extraordinary. Just really get in shape. Ancient ruins are located on mountains/hills so a good bit of hiking is necessary.

We did this tour a few years ago. What food don’t they like, what do they like? I remember a lot of iceberg lettuce, tomato, feta, cucumber and sliced onion salads, a lamb stew (I did not care for), a trout lunch (amazed at how many people didn’t know how to eat a whole trout) and wonderful gyro’s, flaky honey pastries and strong coffee. Lots of seafood (wonderful calamari) and as a group we made a moussaka. We found great pizza in Athens for lunch. Tip, learn to say the Greek word for thank you, it’s a bit of a tongue twister but appreciated. And have a wonderful time.

Just did the tour Sept/Oct and have mixed reviews. Loved loved loved the folks on the tour! Tour guide Niki had an apprentice. Local guides are lovely, including Mama Fay, who’s 80!! (Athens) The cons: be ready for one night stays after long bus rides, would not recommend if you have motion sickness. Small towns without much going on, closing up after the summer. Boutique hotels were mostly good, but they like hard mattresses! Hydra island, wonderful! Monemvasia was my favorite for swimming, in the Aegean Sea, after walking up the mountain! Beautiful scenery but do not expect an island tour! Think mountain ranges and many architectural and ruins history!

We did this tour last spring. The food was lovely. We had at least one vegetarian in our group and no problems. The trout lunch was lovely and an alternate was offered. Fresh oranges were wonderful.
Our tour was March/April and the water was too cold for me to swim. Weather was fine and only a little rain. There was a fair amount of bus time—not long distances but slow and winding roads. I can have motion sickness but was fine in the front half of the bus. The sites traveled to were definitely worth it.
If you love ancient sites this is great. Other than the Acropolis the crowds were reasonable.

Sorry I'm late to respond-hopefully you've already booked this tour!

We're doing our 8th RS tour this summer--Greece was our 2nd, and one of our favorites! Most people only get to see Mykonos and Santorini from a cruise ship, but the RS tour gives you so much more! History, culture, food!

Once our tour ended, we flew to Naxos for a few nights, which is probably our favorite Greed island! The cruise ships don't go there, the town is big enough for nightlife, and the beaches are the best! From there we took the ferry to Santorini, staying in Oia for a few nights. Santorini is beautiful, but it's so crowded with cruise ships. Either way, it was easy to get there from Naxos and we flew back (the day before) for our return to the U.S.

Here's my own two cents about traveling with other people: if you know they have xxxxxxxx, let them worry about that. They wouldn't have agreed to go if they thought they couldn't manage. They know it's a foreign country and things are not the same. It's part of travel to get outside one's comfort zone and experience life in a new and exciting way!

Greece is the only country we've revisited on our own, we loved it so much!

My wife and I did this tour just over a year ago (out 10th tour). The tour is great if you love history and architecture. Tip 1) The food on tours is usually good and they give you options of main dishes pretty much at every group dinner. But like any group meal of 24 people, sometimes the meal just can't get to you as fresh as if you were dining with just your partner alone. We've found the best meals we've had on every tour has been the meals we had on our own. Again, the meals with the group are almost always really good - but we've frankly had some of the best meals of our lives on these tours at restaurants we searched out before we went on the tour. Tip 2) I think we were told something like 80% of the land in Greece is either hill or mountain...and they're not kidding! the tour is very doable and enjoyable, but hitting the stairmaster or an elliptical for several weeks before you go will pay off! Tip 3) The tour doesn't go to the northern region. I highly recommend doing a few days on your own in Meteora. It's very easy to find a tour company to set up a custom tour for however many days you can do. We used https://visitmeteora.travel/ and did four days there. They will set up a bus trip there for you, along with hotel and guided hikes or tours. It was honestly awesome. But again - get in shape for it! We did guided hikes to the monasteries with just the two of us or with one other couple, and a bike ride with just us and a guide with electric assist bikes that made it very easy. In my opinion, the price was incredibly cheap for the experience we got.
