Heart of Portugal Tour - Good Day for Laundry?

Hi:

We'll be taking this tour next month & I'm trying to work on my packing.

Do any prior tour members have recommendations regarding best day to squeeze in some laundry? We'd prefer to go to a launderette, rather than sink wash.

Evora will be 8 days into our trip, so a good half-way point. The launderette mentioned in the RS guidebook seems pretty small (only 2 washers & 2 dryers) & has a quite a few bad reviews. I'm hoping there is more than 1 in town. Or maybe just have to sink wash in Tomar, since we'll be there for 2 nights.

Thanks!

I was on the tour in March. There was a laundromat near the hotel in Coimbra that I used. This was also a good day to do laundry because most of the day was free to do whatever you wanted.

Thanks, Renee! That's good to know about Coimbra being a good day for laundry.

Hi TinyC,

Was on this tour 22 Apr 2026 - 3 May 2026. I visited the the laundry you mention, Ganda Seca on R. de Serpa Pinto 47a 25 Apr 2026. It is as you describe, 2 washers, 1 large 1 small, and 2 dryers, 1 large and 1 small. They have a change machine for euro bills. It is about 10 min walk from the hotel I was in Hotel M´AR De AR Aqueduto. I found it clean and efficient for my 1 small load, took about 1 1/2 hr. Soap etc are automatically added. 5 euro for small wash, 1 euro for small dry.

Another laundry the next tour day, Splash at Tv. Misericórdia n.º3, Tomar, Portugal, was suggested by our guide. I didn't use it or go in it.

There was time on both days to get to those places.

Thanks GabyandRob!

I'm glad the launderette wasn't as bad as the reviews sounded. It's good to know of the option in Tomar too.

Another week until the list of our hotels is available!

Did you enjoy the hotels you stayed in?
