Heads-up Delta JFK-Shannon Flights mid Sept and October

I was booked on an October 4 flight to Shannon to join my tour in Ennis on October 6. I found out, by accident, that the flight was cancelled. I did some searches and it seems that all flights after Sept. 9 have been cancelled. I don't want anyone to get caught off guard. I was able to book through Dublin; it just involves a bus or train transfer to Ennis. I am disappointed in Delta that I did not receive a notification.

We're Detroiters so obviously we use Delta most often and we book directly. I've had the same thing happen several times. I had to discover a cancellation once myself by accident. Another time I didn't get a notice until a week later. The past year I've received timely (even if undesirable) notices. It's important to receive notices immediately while other options are still available. I've made it a routine to check "My Trips" often when I have upcoming travels.

You book directly with Delta and do not get notifications of cancellation? That is a problem.

I am also curious if you booked directly with Delta or through a third party like Am Ex or Chase. When I book directly with Delta I get notifications of every little change, but this is definitely not the case the times I've booked through Am Ex.

I booked direct with Delta. I also have received, in the past, email notifications of any change. This is why this cancellation threw me off. I caught it, but it may cause others problems if they don’t catch the change.

I always book directly with Delta and usually receive instant notifications of the most minute changes - even a change of a few minutes in the schedule almost always results in email notifications. However, several really big changes or cancellations did not trigger any notification. I did not note any correlation between the schedule flight date and the notification failures. The lack of notifications occurred with both close and distant departures. I happened upon several changes myself so I consult "My Trips" often just in case.

Notifications are often sent in order of affected people. In other words if you’re flight is a long way off it could be a long time before you get an education unfortunately

Because some people are proactive and have checked their flights weekly and realize there’s a change and they’ve gotten the better options before you get notified.

Delta does changes on Saturday. Check your flights every Sunday or Monday.

Carol, that is very good information to know. I do check My Trips periodically, but I will be more diligent checking them on Mondays. Thank you, Francine
