Have you taken the new Tuscany Tour?

If anyone has taken the new Tuscany tour, I have a question. On the first full day of the tour, after visiting David, is the morning walk a food tour walk? I'd ask the tour office but I know they're super busy. Just trying to figure this out since I was going to book a food tour for the afternoon. Thanks!

After seeing David, we walked to a market and had two small samples of meat, then had something from a deli across the street. It wasn't much. I remember wondering if this would stay on the itinerary in the future. I would go ahead with your afternoon food tour. This was a great tour. The 2nd and 3rd hotels were outstanding. Elba was great. Any other questions about this tour?

Thanks Art! I know it could change by tour, but wondering which hill towns besides Pienza and Volterra you visited. Really looking forward to this great itinerary!

We also visited the hill towns of Siena and Pitigliano. Our 2nd hotel (Castello di Gargonza) probably counts as a hilltop village. On our free day in Elba, half of us took a public bus with our guide to Napoleon's summer villa in the morning. In the afternoon, many in the group visited the Medici fortress. The youngest member of our group took a bus to go climb the highest point on the island. Each day was great, including Pisa (before the tour) and Cinque Terre (after the tour).

This was a great tour. Agree with Art, go ahead and book the food tour for later in the day after visiting David. All the hill towns were great and the stay at Castello di Gargonza is special. Lucca and the Opera singer are a great close to a fantastic itinerary.

Trying decide between Tuscan tour and Villages Italy. We did HOI in 2019 and need to go back! Any input?

Jill, there seems to be some overlap with HOI, VI, and BOT and I have only done Best of Tuscany. To make a pitch for Tuscany, Elba was a highlight and the 2nd (Castello di Gargonza) and 3rd (La Moscadella) hotels were unique. Look up those hotels online and see if that decides it for you.
