Shouldn't this new forum be linked to all other Travel Forums? It's very hard to find!
Do you have this link as well, Laura? See third line from the bottom. But your comment is not "wrong"!
Could there be a link to this on the initial forum page where you choose your subject or country of interest?
That's what I meant to say. It should be available along with all the other forums. I think many more would know to post that way. I mentioned it in the Trips forum just in case other folks didn't know about it, but the webmaster should really place it along other forums.
Hi Laura,
I emailed the Webmaster to let him know it's not showing up. I'm wondering if the same thing is happening like back in January when the 'Transportation' forum didn't show up for the helpliners, even though Andrew and staff could see it? We all kept asking why they got rid of the forum and he/they kept saying it was there. Oh well, it got fixed and I'm sure this will too.
I'm getting ready to go on my next tour in two weeks. Then I'll come and offer my two cents/tour evaluation noted here, since they changed the questions and have those silly star ratings now. Hopefully, others will do the same.
:). Enjoy,
It's just more confusion on the new, improved website. I use the "See All Topics" view and there are many questions that are initiated in the "Reviews" and the "Reports" sections. A goodly number of people who are apparently new to the site don't read the descriptions, or ignore them. I haven't paid attention to the volume of responses versus on the "Forums" section, but one would assume that not everyone sees them.
Hi guys -
As I responded on another thread, this is what's called a "soft launch." This is a brand new forum, so we wanted to roll it out with minimal positioning and no announcement to see if it has "legs," as they say. We gauge the interest level, then elevate its visibility.
In short: yes there are plans to list it in the general Travel Forum section, yes there are plans for an announcement about it. We are working on that. This forum just launched late last week, so we're still evaluating our plans surrounding it.
FWIW, I much prefer the All Topics setting to the laundry list approach. The current Rick Steves format is simple to use, whether posting a question or seeing what is current.
Thanks, Kate, for letting us know about the "soft launch." Makes sense.
