I LOVE Rick Steves type of people, interested in history and culture! I am looking for a 7 to 10 tour that isn't all bus. Does Rick offer anything like that? I can't find it on the site. GOAL: Hike, bike, or kayak, or a mixture from village to village. 7-10 miles a day. Stay at little B & B's or Huts or anything authentic. Food all prepared and organized. Maybe a group of 10- 20 people with guide. Looking for Italy, Spain, Croatia, anywhere! Thoughts or suggestions would be great.

Take a look at Backroads, my friends have traveled with them in Italy, France, and the US ... they also do active trips in Croatia, etc. They were very pleased: bed and breakfasts, cooking class, serious hiking and biking. Link below, they’re based in California.
