For those that have attended either of these tours, what are the pros/cons of each?
Thanks in advance.

We’ve done both. Loire was more active (for us), Eastern France seemed more wine centered (vineyards, wineries, tastings). Both were good; we did Loire in 2017, Eastern France this year. We liked Loire a little more, but that’s our opinion. Had the same great guide for both (Toni Seymour). 🤷♀️
I sent you a private message as I went on both tours.
We did the Loire in September 2013. Haven’t done the Eastern France Tour. At the time we preferred the itinerary of the Loire. So glad we chose the tour. It was active, the sites & activities were exactly what we expected, & timing in each town was great. Our wonderful tour guide was Toni Seymour! It was our first RS Tour and it met all our expectations. We spent 5 nights in Paris before the tour and added an extra night in Nice. Many “wow” moments. One of the highlights was canoeing the Dordogne. It was absolutely breathtaking scenery. The life altering experience was visiting Oradour Sur Glane. All in all it depends on which area ticks your boxes. ;)
Great question as I am interested in both tours!
That's a broad question, but here's a link to my trip report from our 2019 Eastern France tour. https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/tours/tour-report-best-of-eastern-france
We did the Loire to the South of France last month, and I am determined to post a trip report I hope to get at least part of it posted this evening or tomorrow.
