Question regarding the Fortress Fürigen tour included in our August Best of Switzerland in 12 days trip, do we actually go in?
Quoted from itinerary "At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we'll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral"
Trying to plan additional time in advance of the tour. Reading online indicates the Fortress is only open 1st Sunday of each month. We really want to see inside.

From April to October it is open Saturday & Sunday, 11:00-17:00. This assumes I am interpreting their German-only website correctly!

Take a peek at the recent(2016) entry in the scrapbook contest for Best of Switzerland entered by Stan Seys. He has some pictures of the interior of the Fortress. It might give you an idea of all the sights and sites you will see.
You can get to it from the main tour page-scrapbook contest. Looks like an amazing tour.

I took the RS Switzerland tour last year and yes you will go inside the fortress and do a complete tour. Our tour was led by a guide provided by the fortress. Very interesting. Use the WC before the tour, facilities inside are limited.

Our group also toured the entire facility. We were divided into 2 groups. Our half of the group was given an introduction presentation outside the fortress before heading indoors, while the other half immediately entered the fortress. Smaller groups fit into some of the smaller spaces more efficiently.. It was a very interesting experience.
