Finally booked a tour! ... sort of

Well, after months of deliberation, I recently finally picked and booked a 2020 tour!

While my top choice was the Adriatic, given our work schedules and other logistics, I would not be able to travel during the months I'd ideally like to visit, nor for as long with pre- and post-tour excursions.

The new Andalucia tour caught my eye, but ultimately I chose Greece!

Paid my deposit, got confirmed! Preparations and research began, the anticipation builds, and the next morning, I come home from the gym to find a surprise from my wife waiting for me...

A positive pregnancy test!

Yep, we're expecting next spring!

Though I was a little bummed I wouldn't be travelling next year -- and had just booked less than 24 hrs prior -- ultimately I can't complain, as this news is infinitely better. Oh well! I'll be back to Europe one day sure enough.

Oh my gosh, Justin! Congrats on the little one! How very exciting and yes, Greece/Andalucia/Eastern Europe will be there after you all celebrate this milestone event!

So sorry you're not going to travel but so very happy for you and your wife.

Thank you, Pam and Priscilla!

@Priscilla -- fall is a bit of a hard time to travel. However, we did decide to spend a long weekend next month in Victoria, BC and visit Butchart Gardens. That'll be our babymoon.

Congratulations! And sorry about your trip having to be put off for awhile. We are trying to plan for next spring with my cousin and her hubby but thier daughter is going for #3 after the new year so we have to wait and dare I say hope it dosen’t happen right away. Is that terrible of us? Good luck with the pregnancy.

Congratulations! Europe will be there later.
In 2016 we scheduled a Sicily tour plus BOE. We told our son and daughter in law that we had news to share. So did they! We rescheduled our tours and Rick Steves was very accommodating. This year we have to squeeze between his birthday and that of grandson #2.

Thank you for the well wishes, everyone, it means a lot!

Yep, it gives me a little time to figure out when/where the next European trip will be. I thought it would be fun to take the kids when they were 4 or 5, perhaps start out in England, then work our way east, like to Scandinavia. I was able to come across lots of family-oriented resorts in various countries. In addition to some downtime from the big sites and cities, it'd be a chance for the kids (and us) to step away from the touristy attractions for a few days and get to know the locals.
