Family Tour - British Museum - Tour Guide

Greetings,
Taking our 15 year old grand daughter on the Rick Steves' Family Tour.
My husband and I have been to London several times. We think it's important to take our grand daughter to the British Museum and to hire a professional tour guide to give her the best museum experience.
Can anyone suggest a tour guide we could book for the British Museum?
Thanks!
Dawn

The Rick Steves London tour book lists several Blue Badge guides
Also it references London Walks as that organization can probably link you to one.

I'm sure a guide will provide a lot of good information, but he or she will not be able to do much about the massive crowding in the museum. I'd recommend spending time on the website before your trip, looking at the floor plan and what is displayed in each area. The ground floor has been much, much more crowded every time I've been there, so if there are things you're interested in on the upper floor, I'd recommend asking the guide to include them. It takes multiple days to see all of the British Museum, so you're going to have to be selective in any case. You may as well try to spend at least part of your time in more pleasant conditions.

Museum staffers and a London Walks guide both told me the museum is usually most crowded on weekends, Fridays and rainy days.

Thanks so much for the Gavin Webb's contact information. I have emailed our request to him.
Unfortunately, the RS Tour book we received for this tour does not include a list of suggested tour guides.
Thanks again

Hi Dawn

I'm happy to have helped. Gavin has certainly been a pleasure to communicate with. We opted for his highlights tour, and when I told him that my niece is a big Harry Potter fan, he said he'd show us something for that too!

If by chance he is unavailable, you can go to the Blue Badge website, recommended by RS, and get matched with an alternate guide: https://www.guidelondon.org.uk/
