Ephesus tour

Looking for a possible biblical tour of Ephesus/ kusadasi for next year. We are stopping as a cruise stop. Really only want no more than 4 hours. Any suggestions? Our first cruise in 30 years so we are trying to figure out what places are worth buying excursions.

I wasn't sure what you meant by a "biblical tour," so I googled it. I found a few sites for tour operators that do this kind of tour. I suspect you can do the same. Not sure if you can see everything in four hours, though.

I'd suggest you contact some of the tour operators and tell them what you're interested in. It appears some of them can customize the tour to fit your interests.

Maybe someone else on this forum has done a biblical tour in this area and will be able to give you a specific recommendation.

Enjoy. I was there last year, and it is definitely impressive.

When a cruise ship arrives, there will be a number of buses hauling people to (1) Ephesus and (2) to the rug stores on the way back.

The rug merchants kickback some sales proceeds to the bus drivers, and they really put on a hard sale. What's so funny is that they will even deliver any handmade rug purchase when you get home. They have door to door rug salesmen working out of antique stores in places like Miami Circle in Atlanta. And you'll have a Turkish friend for life.

But all kidding aside, Ephesus is a very important place to visit as you can walk where Paul walked and spoke. It's a really neat place, and the tour guides there are excellent. They mainly talk about the lifestyles and the rise and fall of the city. It's not so deep religiously.

The Turkey listing of toursbylocals.com has listings of Guides and their contact information, operating out of Kusadasi. Most tours will take you to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin and you can let them know about your interest in Ephesus’s biblical associations so they can tailor your tour to your interest.
