Anyone gone to Egypt lately? Looking to go in the next few months. Do you have a tour company or a private guide that you recommend? I would like nicer accommodations. Would love to hear your highlights. What is the recommended length of time to stay? Itenerary suggestions? Thanks for your help! (PS - I was surprised to see Ricks video - Just watched it)

Note that most of them are in the BEYOND EUROPE section.
We had an excellent experience touring Egypt with Odysseys Unlimited.
If nicer accommodations is a major consideration, I suggest you look into Uniworld. For our tour, they put us in the Four Seasons during our time in Cairo, and they claim that their ship, the SS Sphinx, is the most opulent on the Nile. I can't personally confirm that claim since it's the only ship I've stayed on in Egypt, but it definitely wasn't coach class. Our tour was 12 days, which included 7 nights on the Nile and the rest in Cairo. So far as itinerary, make sure you make it to Abu Siimbel. Otherwise, any reputable tour company will take you to the major sites.
A lot of friends have recommended a Canadian company that specializes in Egypt: Platinum Holidays. They offer both a regular level that is perfectly fine and an upgraded package with more luxury hotels and ship. https://www.platinumholidays.com/travel-us/Egypt-Tour-Itineraries.php
The most typical itinerary for the first time visitor is a couple days each in Cairo (including Pyramids in Giza), Aswan and Luxor, with a visit from Aswan to Abu Simbel (either overnight or day trip, former is better), and a few days cruising the Nile between Aswan and Luxor (either way), ideally on a luxurious dahabiyya (private yacht). I went with Overseas Adventure Travel (OAT) a few years ago and the accommodations were the best possible, including the Winter Palace in Luxor and the Old Cataract in Aswan (which was the best hotel room I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world). No guarantee OAT is currently using those hotels but even if not you will be very well treated.
