go to google maps, my best friend in trip planning. Enter Piazzale Roma, Venice. Up comes on the map showing your spot. In the sort of upper left is a box and one spot says directions, click it. In the new box enter your second location where the blinking cursor is,. Make sure you then click the little figure of the walking man if you want walking directions. (The bus will show public transport directions). Zut allors, there you are. I use that function ALL THE TIME to figure out if what I want to do is possible. Google walks shows it as being an 11 minute 850 meter walk, crossing 2 bridges.

"googlemaps.com" also has street level views. It will take some experimentation to get the hang of using that feature, but you will be able to "walk" your route before you ever leave home. When you get there you will feel as if everything is familiar. Try it an see what you think. TC
