Saw on Tripadvisor that there is a direct bus not stopping in Jerez. Can anyone verify this for free day in Seville with RS in May.

I took such a bus back in 2019. You'll need to check the bus-company website much closer to the time you travel to be sure nothing has changed.

Arcos del la Frontera is not a day trip from Sevilla if taking a bus. Traveling one way takes 2h 45m that requires a connection. Renting a car for the day is a better option since the drive is 1h 15m.

It's a long bus ride (there was no transfer required for me), but I had all the time I needed in Arcos--and I'm a very slow traveler who usually spends a lot more time than average at each stop. Arcos isn't the sort of place where most people need a full or nearly full day.
This isn't a trip I'd take if I hadn't already had plenty of time to see Seville (four days or longer) and Cordoba (at least one full day).
