My husband and I will be on the Best of the Adriatic tour in June. I have a question for others who have taken this tour. I generally use credit cards when traveling in Europe and I'm wondering whether they are as widely accepted in Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia as in other parts of Europe.
I went on that tour in 2023. I had my Visa card loaded on my phone with Apple Pay, so I didn’t need to worry about accessing my card that I keep in my money belt. Our guide did encourage us to have some Euros from ATM’s. She showed us which type didn’t come with heavy fees.
That’s a wonderful tour! Have a great time!
I was on this tour 2 years ago - you will love it!! I had no issues using cards pretty much everywhere. I did take some cash out at an ATM for use in some of the small market stalls and for items like gelato more for convenience or when leaving a euro or 2 for a tip somewhere. I definitely found that cards were accepted everywhere.
I took the tour last fall, and concur, no issues using my credit cards.
Thank you! I didn't really expect a problem, but I did want to make sure. We're so excited about the trip.
I think you'll find that credit cards are widely accepted, with the exception of American Express. Visa and MasterCard work most anywhere.
Appreciate this post and answers! We are on this tour starting 29 APR! So excited!
