COVID and Travel Insurance

I have read a number of reports of travelers who have had their tours canceled or interrupted because they tested COVID positive. In addition, I have read that travel insurance companies have been helpful in making alternate arrangements once plans have changed. However, I have not read anything about final outcomes. How have travel insurance companies reimbursed tour members for extra hotel rooms, meals, transportation, canceled return airline tickets and other expenses. Has anybody gone the full circuit and gotten a final determination from a travel insurance company?

It’s been over a month, so far only United has reimbursed the return portion of our tickets.

I haven’t had a chance to submit my receipts as just got home this week but my trip interruption was covered. My travel insurance purchased an almost $2,500 last minute nonstop flight for me as my original flight was non refundable after the initial flight. I just called them and sent them pictures of the documentation they needed. I had to make follow up calls to push the process along but they came through with the ticket.
