Combining Two Tours in One Trip

We want to visit Portugal and Spain. Thinking of starting with the Heart of Portugal Tour April 3-10, 2027 then My Way Spain April 15-25. Will go to Azores in between. Questions: does this look doable and can we reserve an extra night at the chosen hotel before the Portugal tour?

As soon as you book the tour(s) and are confirmed, RS will confirm your first and last hotels on each tour. Then it's up to you to reach out to the hotel; let them know you'll be there for a RS tour and would like to add an extra night. They may say it's too soon to book the extra night, but the hotel can give you all the specifics; your rate, what room type to book, when they'll accept a booking for the extra night, etc.

Looks doable to me. Two years ago we combined the My Way Spain tour with the Best of the Basque Country. We only had 2 days in between, so we booked those at the first hotel for the Basque tour. Since the biggest hurdle for us is the international travel leg, we frequently book 2 tours together.

We've combined tours a number of times, since, as Patty said, we want to optimize the travel to and from Europe. We've done "back to back" Rick Steves tours at least 5 times, and combined a Rick tour with a tour from another company twice, counting our upcoming summer tours.

As KD noted, you'll have first and last tour hotel information as soon as you sign up, so can start your planning right away!

Have fun planning. You're in for a great time.

Great plan! Going to the Azores will give you some unscheduled time to just enjoy a beautiful place and relax between tours.
