I am looking for a city to spend 3 days in after the Berlin, Prague & Vienna tour. I have looked into Munich, Bratislava, and Budapest but am looking for other suggestions to extend a trip to Europe.
Ideally the city would be within a few hour train ride with an international airport.
Budapest is a very interesting and scenic city with some wonderful historic architecture. A train runs frequently from Vienna every day. There is a Speed Train. Budapest has Ferenc Liszt International Airport, BUD. It would a vivid and different experience for you. I enjoyed the Food!
I would also suggest Budapest. Easy to get to from Vienna, gorgeous, interesting, and as Kathleen said, great food. No question.
Bratislava is an easy day trip from Vienna (about an hour by train). Budapest is probably the biggest city nearby. You could always go the other direction and head to Salzburg or Munich.
I cant get excited about Munich. Bratislave is good for a few hours, and then? Salzburg would be okay and you can probably get a Lufthansa flight home through Frankfurt. But nothing will compare to Budapest. But I am biased.
Budapest is different from the other three, and SO interesting and beautiful!

I definitely agree that with those parameters, Budapest is the best choice. Second best, I would say is to stay in Vienna for a few more days, including a day trip to Bratislava. I see that your tour gives you 3 nights/2 full days in Vienna, and the Wachau Valley, which is pretty good for RS tours which tend to move fast, but there is much more to see and do in that city.
Slate mentions the Wachau Valley, a bucket list destination for me. Depending on what time of year you are going, that might be just the thing to decompress after your busy big city tour.
I can't think of a better suggestion than Budapest. It's a real winner.
