Central Europe 15 Day Tour-post-tour transportation to Venice

My husband and I are going on the June 15 Central Europe 15 Day Tour this summer. We’re planning on leaving for Venice when it ends and stay for a couple of days before we head home. I’m wondering if we should be figuring out transportation from Bled to Venice in advance or whether we will be OK figuring this out last minute.

We took this tour in 2023 and flew home from Venice. We used the shared Go Opti Shuttle. We booked ahead and everything went smoothly, and it was affordable. I think it was about a three hour drive (not as easy as hailing a taxi or similar), so it’s not something I’d leave to chance at the last minute, but to each their own.
It was my impression that the earlier you book GoOpti, the better the price, but I’m not certain of that. I also seem to remember that there may be a bus or train option, but the shuttle was the best idea for us (we were headed to the airport).
Our tour guide was helping people with departure day transport to the Ljubljana airport or the train station, but getting to Venice at the last minute could be a big ask.
It was a great tour, hope you enjoy it!

The Go Opti shuttles did fill up when we used them, so book early. They are very professional and the drivers have excellent English.
Also, do not book an early flight out of Venice; it's difficult to get to the Venice airport for an early morning flight.
Have a great trip!

You are leaving in June, this is March, not sure why you would want to wait?

One option is DayTrip.com. They have some really great stops in route too. I was going to say "not cheap at about USD475" but thats less than $250 a person for a couple which compared to the $12000 ($6000 per person) for the couple to do the RS tour + air fare ... its chump change; and well worth it. Ive used them a few times and its hard to get on a bus or a train after you have had a driver.

Thank you, everyone! This was so helpful. We did the village Italy tour last summer which ended in Lake Orta and several people in our group were just making arrangements a couple days in advance to get to their next spot and a few shared rides. I can see this is not a good idea for this particular tour/location. I will check out the options you all shared and definitely make plans in advance. Thanks so much! We’re excited!

Last fall we used Daytrip.com from Bled to Venice. Driver was at our hotel early, was very professional & it was a smooth trip to Venice. I wish we could have booked one of the stops on the way to Venice, but we had a tour booked & needed to be in Venice by early afternoon. I would use Daytrip.com again.

We used the GoOpti shuttle after our tour last fall. I booked at the beginning of our tour after talking to our guide. It cost about 60€ per person - pickup was from our hotel in Bled and drop off at the tronchetto in Venice. We did the non private shuttle option and had several other people along for the ride. It was easy and convenient.

We did this exact thing two years ago.

From Lake Bled we took the regular city bus to Ljubljana where we stayed an additional night. Those tickets we bought on the bus.

From Ljubljana to Venice we used TripStair and bought those tickets in advance, which I recommend because it was a small van. We met the van at the bus depot and it was an easy 2.5 hour drive from there. He dropped someone off in a small town and two others at the Venice airport. He dropped us off at the tourist bus parking in Venice and we took the small train over to the city. I think it was a 3 minute ride and cost two euros each.

It’s best to plan your transportation from Bled to Venice in advance, as options like buses and private transfers can fill up, especially in summer. Booking early ensures availability and better prices.
