For anyone looking for a great destination in Quebec, Charlevoix and the Le Massif area are definitely worth discovering, no matter the season. Between the mountains, the St. Lawrence River, Baie-Saint-Paul, and the small villages scattered throughout the region, there’s a lot to explore.
The Petite-Rivière-Saint-François area, right at the foot of Le Massif de Charlevoix, is a particularly good base for exploring the region. Even in November, as fall gives way to winter, the area has a lot of charm, and it’s generally a quieter time to experience Charlevoix.
For accommodations, FÖSS is one place worth checking out. It’s a large, modern chalet with a beautiful view, a hot tub, and a game room with a pool table and a climbing wall for kids. It works especially well for families or groups of friends, particularly if you want a place where you can also enjoy spending time at the chalet between outings.

There are also some great places to add to your itinerary: Faux Bergers for a more refined dining experience focused on local Charlevoix ingredients, Le Mouton Noir for a great bistro atmosphere in Baie-Saint-Paul, Buvette Gentille for small plates and wine, and Le Saint-Pub by MicroBrasserie Charlevoix for something more casual with local craft beer. In Petite-Rivière-Saint-François itself, Le Four à Pain is also a nice spot to check out in the village.
