Can someone help tell me the name of a hotel in one of RS' videos?

Video was Europe/Venice/aired in 2012. It was recently re-aired and he stayed at a very beautiful hotel. The room had a canal view, there was a terrace for breakfast or cocktails that looked out at the Grand Canal and the small quaint lobby had a beautiful cocktail area.

I paused the program and it looks like there were initials on the table cloth that MAY read PK.

Can someone help tell me which hotel this is? I would like to research it for an anniversary trip. Thanks!

Well, not sure if it's the same show/same place, but...
In one of Rick's older shows on Venice, he pals around with a local guy named Piero in his (Piero's) boat, describing how much he loves living in venice. Piero is gregarious, and has a booming voice. I remember that about him from when we stayed in his 800-year-old hotel (we had a room right across from the reception desk, and I don't think I'll ever forget that voice...we heard it a lot!). That one is called Albergo Guerrato. We stayed there long ago (almost 15 years ago - sheesh, gotta get back to Italy soon!). The hotel is in the area near Rialto Bridge, and is (or at least was) almost always full of Ricknics - his tours always book(ed) the place.

Hotel website here: http://www.hotelguerrato.com/

Another thread here that I stumbled across while googling: https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/italy/pensione-guerrato

Hope the above helps.

Thanks so much for the reply! I did look those up earlier from my own searching and none of the photos look like anything from the video. It's a 2 part video and this was part 1. He showed several parts of the hotel but never mentioned the name and never had anyone speak from the hotel. But he said he was slightly splurging.

Still at a loss. It's so beautiful and perfect! LOL :) Wild goose chase now.

Thanks again!

WOW - that is definitely it and definitely WAY out of my price range!! hahah

It did look drool worthy but I have never seen any of his hotels in that range. Oh well, very pretty but I stick with my reservations at Locanda la Corte!! :)

Thanks for the super sleuthing and replies!

Actually, Hotel al Ponte Antico is in the 2016 Italy book at Db €325, "superior" and canal-front up to €490. When Rick lists a hotel as "$$$" in an expensive town like Venice ....

Oh well, it's fun to window shop, anyway!
