Is it necessary to buy concert tickets in advance for the Fortress concerts or Mirabell Palace concerts in Salzburg?

Since there is limited seating, buy tickets ahead of time. Last year I don’t remember tickets being sold at the door. The quartet was good. The pianist was fantastic.

I was able to get concert tickets through the concierge at the hotel. I was lucky but I’d purchase tickets in advance next time. Wonderful venue and performance!

Five of us bought tickets about three days ahead for a Wednesday in September 2023 in the Fortress.
