Budapest/ Prague hotels

I am strongly considering the Budapest and Prague tour and was hoping that someone who had been on the tour before could tell which hotels they stayed in while in Prague and Budapest.

Thank you.

There have been a few posts in which the RS hotels in Budapest came up, but wasnt the point of the tread so will be hard to search for (or I would for you). I do know they once used the Astoria, but I also know they use who ever they can get the best contract with and it can change from trip to trip. I will be interested to see what answers you get.

Hotels vary from time to time. You need to contact Steves' directly for that answer.

I’m doing this tour in Oct and we’re in Hotel Leonardo in Prague and K&K Opera in Budapest.

Facinating. When you think of RS Tours you think of small quirky, family run, one off, unique.

The K+K was the first hotel I stayed at in Budapest in 2003 and I returned a few times over the years.

Then like now, it is one of the better 4-star corporate Business Class hotels in town. Dont worry about schlepping luggage down the street or up the stairs. The bus can park in front (or maybe it parks 100 m down the sidewalk on Andrassy ut) and there are elevators.

Best of all it is located behnd the Opera House which means the location could not be much better.

Well done Rick.

We did the Eastern Europe tour in May and had great hotels in both Prague (Hotel Metamorphis) and Budapest (Hotel Andrassy). Both were lovely and centrally located! If you have more time, I highly recommend this tour, which also includes Krakow, Croatia, and Slovenia. Can't say enough good things about our experiences there!

Thank you for listing the other two hotels and suggesting the longer tour. Something to think about..............

I am guessing, it is the Mamaison Hotel Andrassy. It's in the upper third of Andrassy ut mixed among the mansions an embassies. It's lovely out there. And it has a good restaurant.

For tourism, it's only about a 15 minute metro ride to the center of the TOP 10 in Budapest; or you can walk it in 30 minutes which you will have to do after 11pm, cause that's when the metro closes.

Few restaurants or clubs or winebars out that way, but only about 30 min walk and metro to some nice areas for evening entertainment.

Again Rick surprises with a nice 4 star hotel. Great.
