BOE 14-day from 5/25/15 to 6/7/15

Well, we have passed under two months for this tour, so I thought I would reach out to see if there is anyone else on the forums participating in this tour. My lovely spouse and I recently celebrated our 25th anniversary and are celebrating with this tour. Her first time across the pond, my third. Greatly looking forward to seeing some sights again (Paris, Munich, Florence, Rome) and some new spots (Beaune, Venice, Lauterbrunnen Valley). We live in the beautiful Texas Hill Country (Dripping Springs, a suburb of Austin).

Would love to hear from those who are on this tour. Or, for that matter, anyone excited as we are about their upcoming or past trips.

Thanks,

Dan

Hi Dan! My son and I will be on this tour. This is his gift for graduating from UVA the weekend before, and my gift for paying his way through. Wife will be sitting this one out with our daughter still in school. Look forward to seeing you in Paris.

Jeff, I guess we can talk a little ACC on this trip. Our eldest daughter graduated from Duke in May 2014, and is now working on her doctorate in beautiful Ithaca, NY. See you in Paris.

Dan, Nobody signs up for that tour. It's to crowded. :-)

Instead, everybody is going on a similar My Way tour which has loads of seats remaining. I guess it's because they want to hang out on the Italian Riviera instead of studying the Renaissance in Florence. :-)

Hi!

Not to disappoint you Dan, but I've found most people on the tours don't have any clue about this forum. Frankly, I find it strange since on most of the tours I have been on recently have several alumns on them (for instance last year, more than half the participants had been on at least 2 tours, with many having already been on at least 4)! When I ask them though about the forum, no one seems to know about it. Weird! You would think someone who's been on say, 12 tours already would frequent here. One person was one her 13th tour, and she only joined the forum after I mentioned it to her. Oh well...the good thing is, you know you will get to meet lots of great people.

Oh, and Jeff I hope there are some twenty-somethings on tour for your son (I believe you were the one who posted about this in the fall?).

Regardless, I hope you all have a wonderful time.

Enjoy!

Thanks Gretchen. I have noticed the amazingly low level of participation on these forums. One of life's little oddities, or just a demographic snapshot. Maybe both. My wife and I are a mere 24 days out from heading to Paris! Going to do a few days on our own prior to the tour.

Gretchen, yup, that's me. My son will be fine. What could be better than hanging around with his 50 year old dad for two weeks? :)

Hey Dan, enjoy your trip! We're six weeks behind you on the same (14d BOE) tour, beginning Jul 6. Hope you and your wife have a wonderful anniversary celebration during your time on the continent.

Maybe these people are to busy traveling and planning their next trip.? :-) I hope so! Just a thought.

Annnndddd....my last bump on this post. We are a week out. So far, we have an incredibly active bunch of fellow travelers on this thread, comprised of my lovely wife and myself, together with Jeff & son ;) The rest....well, we will just have to meet them in Paris!
