Question for Best of Spain Alumni

Booked on the Best of Spain Tour. Did you find the 3 nights in Madrid enough time for Madrid? If not, what did you want to do that you there was not time for? FYI.... I am not a “camp out in a museum all day” type tourist....no disrespect intended.

Thanks for the feedback.

We found it to be plenty. We did wish we had gotten to Barcelona earlier, and we are very glad we stayed on for an extra day in Sevilla and a trip to Córdoba.

I also found the time in Madrid fine, although if there had been an opera while we were there, I would have been happy to go. But I definitely agree that an extra day to go to Cordoba is very worthwhile. The mezquita is marvelous and was a highlight of the trip.

We did Madrid/Barcelona tour, which included a day trip to Toledo, where as I think the best of Spain, you stay all night there. I could have used the "extra" day there. My husband loves soccer, he wasn't able to see a match there so that was a disappointment.

You can always go back. We have the Best of Spain on the radar. Doing the Heart of France this year.

Hi John,
We found the time in Madrid to be fine. We did get to Barcelona a couple of days early and glad that we did. It is a beautiful city with so much to see and do. We also stayed an extra day in Seville, it is fabulous, you are in for a treat with the whole tour though!

I am a museum person, but not the kind who camps in them. So I added an extra day at the end in Madrid to see the Thyssen and Reina Sofia. Though I loved the two museums, in hindsight, on the last day I would have arranged a stop over in Cordoba on way back to Madrid, and then taken a late train to Madrid and a flight home early next morning. I would suggest adding a day on the front of the tour for Barcelona, the tour time is not enough to see everything.
