Does anyone know if there is a dedicated bus to transport the tour group between the tour locations on this tour, or do they rely on public transportation? If you have been on this tour, please let me know and any other tips from your experience. Thanks.

You will have a private bus to transport the group between locations. Usually the bus has more seats than tour members so everyone can have two seats to themselves if they want.
I suggest browsing through tour alumni scrapbooks to get a feel for the Sicily tour.

Sicily is a great tour. You’ll have the same bus and driver for the whole trip. The bus is a 50 passenger one so with the tour about half the seats are always empty. No assigned seating, on board toilet, you can leave stuff on the bus and even deep store extra baggage in the below bus luggage compartment. Usually you can always get cold bottled water on the bus.

Like Philip, I think RST's Best of Sicily is a great tour. Tips for the experience of participating on a bus group tour -- traveling light will make the living on the go with no more than 2 nights in one location SO much easier, I like to have both seat covers and extra tissue on me to be prepared for the occasional washroom facility that may have run low, take advantage of the beverages your bus driver has available for you at reasonable cost, say Yes to any extra or unplanned activities, be a good 'buddy' by always making eye contact when everyone in the group is tasked to confirm all present and accounted for, let your guide know if you have an issue needing to be addressed, snap a pic of the day's posted itinerary / always remember to take hotel/restaurant/attraction biz cards or brochures, be hungry when you get to Maria Grammatica's, enjoy granita and only have a freshly made cannolo.
