Best of Scotland tour

Checking to see any reviews regarding this tour from 2025. There were concerns about group size and some accommodations from 2024. My sister and I are thinking of going in 2026.

It looks like the first Scotland tours start mid-April, so it will be a while before reviews start being posted.

With regard to group size, they say ” A small, friendly group of 24–28 people” which is the same as last year.

My experience is that 28 people has been the norm on the tours I have taken as they tend to fill up.

I've been on 3 RS tours and none have been over 28 people. RS always discloses that the group size is 24-28 people; so I'm confused when people seem surprised by the number on their tour.

We’re taking this tour in late September. Of the twelve tours we’ve already taken almost all were in the 24 to 28 range to start. Last year our Village Italy tour was 21 but unexpected cancellations happened. We have former “buddies” that have taken this tour and said some of the accommodations weren’t top notch although always clean but it is Scotland and it’s more about the scenery. You want luxury hotels, you go with Tauck.

We took this tour several years ago and thought it was great. The size of the group is very manageable.

I took this tour a couple years ago. The hotels were typical for Rick's tours: some were fabulous & a couple were just adequate. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and would recommend it. I have been on 10 of these tours and the group size is almost always 28 or very near to that number. However, I don't remember this ever being a problem. Where you really appreciate this is a smaller tour size than many is on the bus. I went on a couple tours with other companies that filled every seat on the bus and it was awful. Being able to spread out on a 1/2 full bus is a real luxury.

Thanks everyone for your input. We have decided on Sicily instead as we both miss Italy and I have never been. We are adding some days in Florence since a person can never have enough time there! God willing, Scotland will be another time. We love RS tours and the people we meet.
