In Krakow does the RS Best of Poland Tour actually include entrance INTO the Wawel Castle and the National Cathedral? Or……Would it be best to book a separate tour of the castle & cathedral on your free time? Thanks!
Probably best to contact the Rick Steves tour office directly with this question.
I went last year and castle not included, nor was Auschwitz. But highly recommend going on this tour and add those for your free time. Museum in Krakow has Lady and Ermine by da Vinci. Such great history with Thomasc as the guide!
Any time I had a question about a tour, Rick Steves' office got back to me within a day, usually sooner.
The tour page includes the details you need. Here is what is included in the Best of Poland tour.

Thanks for the response and information, Mary. I have carefully read all of that information.
I was wanting to know more of the specifics about the tour visit to Wawel Castle & National Cathedral. There are tours designed to tour only the castle and the cathedral. I was hoping to know if the RS Tour experience there was inclusive enough or was it more of a "drive by" event. I realize that can be a personal perception. Maybe someone who has done both can shed some light?
Thanks.
Nargo, while I have not been on the RS tour of Poland, I have been on over a dozen other RS tour. One thing I can say with confidence about RS tours is that they are not drive-by type of tours. If a site/museum/castle/etc. is listed as included in the tour, you will visit and go inside, most times with a local guide.
I suggest you browse through tour alum scrapbooks. Here is one for the Poland tour that should answer your question.
