I believe in past years the RS Best of Paris tour included a 6-day Museum Pass so you could explore additional museums during free afternoons. But for 2024 tours I don’t see the Museum pass listed in the “What’s Included” list. Does anyone know if the RS Best of Paris tour still includes a museum pass that can be used at museums in addition to the guided museum visits already included in the tour?
I would reach out to RS’s office to ask this question.
I agree that a call to the RS office is the right way to get a definitive answer. I looked at the "What's Included" section on this tour for 2024 and it does not mention the 6-day Museum Pass.
I was on this fantastic tour in December 2023, just 3 weeks ago, and the 6-day Museum Pass was included. I think it might be a typo and the RS office needs to be alerted that it is omitted.
This is a wonderful tour, the museums are key to your enjoyment and the 6-day Pass is a huge bargain.
Yep, best thing to do is contact the office.
That someone posted this on an 11/23/23 review of this tour is a hopeful sign tho. :O)
Giving us metro and museum passes, and teaching us how to use Paris
public transportation helped us make the most efficient and affordable
use of our time.
If it is provided - as I believe it will be - just make sure you understand which attractions it does and does not cover, and any which require advance reservations, although it looks like most those that do are visited with your tour group.

The FAQ section of the website can be very helpful:

I had asked a similar question of the RS office when we did the RS Rome tour. I was told that it is up to the particular RS guide whether transportation/museum passes were included.
I have submitted the question to the RS office. I will report back with the response provided.
My hope is that since the tour itself already visits many attractions covered by the pass, I’m sure it is provided and just inadvertently left off the list.
I received the below response from the Rick Steve's office.
Unfortunately the Paris Museum Pass is no longer provided as part of the Best of Paris Tour in 2024.
"In 2024, the Paris museum pass won't be included with the tour, although all museum entrances included as part of the group itinerary will be fully covered. If you plan to visit several more museums on your own, you may wish to purchase a pass for two or more days. If you only plan to visit one or two additional museums, you may prefer to purchase those tickets individually."
Thank you for circling back with the info you got from the office. Even though I no longer find the Museum Pass of value, this feels disappointing.
There are a number of free museums that are interesting as well including the Carnavalet and the Liberation and Resistance Museum. Neither need reservations.
I wonder if there are issues with getting timed entries for groups with the Museum Pass. Many of us have noted over the past year that the timed entry slots for the Louvre for Museum Pass holders are very limited. Often they will be sold put while there are still entries a ailable for purchase.
Thanks from me too, galliegirlie.
Like Pam, I'm a little surprised that they've axed the pass even though the current value isn't nearly what it once was. Not to worry, though; as she has kindly pointed out, there are good museums, interesting churches and cemeteries to be explored for free if budget is of concern. We found the cemeteries - Père Lachaise, Montmartre, etc - especially fascinating, and enjoyed the breaks from the crowds at the most-visited museums.

Whatever you choose to do on your own, you'll have a great time in Paris!
