Best of Ireland starting June 19

Is anyone else here starting the Best of Ireland tour this June? Would love to introduce myself and meet fellow tourmates.

Tony, unfortunately people taking RS Tours seldom post on the forum. Out of five tours, I’ve only met three others who post here.
Have a great tour! Slainte!

Tony, we were on that tour April 5th, but don't think I've seen any postings from others on that tour. Surprising, but nobody on our tour mentioned the forum.

So close that for a moment I thought I was on your tour. But ours starts 2 days later. If your tour starts at Buswell's hotel, we may cross paths!

Hi Travelerguy,

How did you enjoy the tour? Did you have any favorite stops/places/activities? Did you arrive early or stay. late?

We're arriving 2 days early, and flying to Germany to visit Berlin and Prague after the trip.

Hi Kathleen,

I'm sorry we won't meet. Our Dublin hotel is the Iveagh Garden hotel, so a different hotel than where you are staying. Looks like a great itinerary. We just watched 4 RS TV episodes about Ireland, though they are about 20 years old! (Got the DVDs from the library.). I also wanted to read more about the troubles and read the book "Say Nothing", which was really interesting.

Hi Tony, our tour was really great. Our Guide Lynn was excellent, we learned a lot about many things. We arrived Dublin 2 days early, stayed in Buswells. Bought 2 days of Hop On Hop Off big Red Bus. Made a LOT of bus travel all around Dublin. Toured the Guinness Storehouse, very good. Ate at The Brazen Head, saw music at Temple Bar. Ate at The Bank at College Green. Walked through Steven's Green Park. Had a meal and Trad music at Devitt's Pub.

We really enjoyed everything. Dingle was great, heard music at Dingle Pub across the street. The Falcon thing was fun. All the food was great.

Some of the best scenery was following the northern coast and stopping for a few things. And we liked touring Belfast, lots of good pubs to visit. And the Titanic Museum was very interesting.

After the tour, we walked a short way to the train/bus station and took a bus 1 1/2 hours to Dublin airport. We stayed 2 nights at the Premier Inn, and spent the next day in Malahide. We toured the castle, walked around, watched a girls hurling match, and had a good pub meal at Duffy's.

Wonderful trip! I can't really pick out one best thing... You will enjoy it all.

I just finished the book "We Don't Know Ourselves" by Finian O'Toole. He was born in the late 50's and his autobiography is basically a history of Ireland from the late 50's to the 2020's. He can be a bit long-winded, but I was astounded by how little I really knew about modern Ireland.
