Hi, I'm looking forward to my first Rick Steves tour in May and I'm wondering if anyone else on the forum is on this tour? Would love to chat prior to traveling with any of my fellow travelers!

We are not on your tour but the GAS tour was our first tour. Everyday was so interesting and when I would go to bed at night I thought wow going to be hard to top today.. I loved every single day.
Hope you have a wonderful trip. This year we are doing the My Way Alpine tour.. we are super excited..and a little nervous because it is a self guided tour.

Please post after your “My Way “ tour. We debated between my way and guided fir Switzerland. We had such a wonderful trip in 2019 on the Heart of Italy tour we went guided again. We have traveled on our own several times, while still working it’s such a pleasure to not have to research/plan/schedule. Love to hear your thoughts for our next trip. Having trouble deciding what to book for 2023!

We have only done 3 European tours, but the Alpine My Way was our favorite. Our escort visited with each of us before we got to a destination and gave us suggestions based on our interests and abilities. We went early and spent time in Prague and 1 night in Vienna before getting to Salzburg the day of the tour. I wish we would have skipped Vienna and spent another night in Salzburg.

My husband and I are taking this tour June 18 - July 1. I would love to hear about your trip when you return. How are you getting to Trier? We are flying into Frankfurt and I imagine taking the train at least 1/2 way for an overnight outside the city. We arrive a day early, on the 17.

Patrice - please post a trip summary of your My Way Alpine tour. I’ve combed through all of the old Rick Steves scrapbooks, and would really appreciate current feedback on this tour.

We did this tour a few years ago, loved everything about it. Would highly recommend.
