Annie, check your travel insurance regarding paragliding coverage. A few years ago, I was all set to paraglide in Murren, and I accidentally saw the Exclusions Section. Not that anything is really going to happen........;)

Thanks for your responses! I’m mostly concerned with activities that I need to reserve now so I don’t miss out.

I'm doing the 21-day tour in a few months, and we have a significant overlap.

For the luge - it seemed that those are tickets we can buy then if we decide to do it without the need to book in advance, from what I understand from the itinerary and pre-tour planning info the tour provided.

I'm booking the Vatican Museum, St Peter's, and the Eiffel Tower, as you are. I'm also booking the Brunelleschi dome and some activities in Paris after the tour ends (Versailles, a baking class).

If you are considering Paragliding, I strongly recommend it.

We heard a tourmate (Best of Eastern France) asking the tour leader about it, and so we asked. It was, perhaps, the most memorable thing I've ever done on a vacation! It ended up that at least 6 people from our tour went paragliding - and several others said "I wish we had done it". Our tour leader said she had never had so many people go on one trip.
