I didn't even know the Forum existed until about a month before my tour.

We are scheduled for the BOE 21 day 8/20 and I looked for tour mates also. Sadly, I have found only a few so far :) .The anticipation is tangible and I am happy to chat it up with you even though we are not on the same tour. hahaha.

Thank you all for the info! Curtis and Jill, I’m so excited I can’t even stand it. I’m trying to strategically plan down time but also do not want to over plan and hopefully the magic of discovery and exploring will be there too. Have you been on a RS tour before?

Nope. This will be our first. Yes, the planning is so fun. I have read everything I can get my hands on. I go back and forth between just playing the down time by ear and making definite plans. I have what Pam calls FOMO. (fear of missing out) Haha. So the struggle is real.

We are on the 8-20 tour with Curtis and Jill and like she said no real interaction on this site. It will be a great tour for sure.

Not on my phone at all. I found out I could on my PC but never use it as it’s old and shot. I talked to the Webmaster with Rick Steves and he couldn’t figure it out either. Says he need to talk to some others in the IT Department. Thanks for sending them to me. We have some really cool hotels we are staying in. And I really like the idea of staying in Murren in Switzerland. Having the list also helps with logistics if we want to do something on our own. This way we know where we are staying. Although not really planning much for the free time so far.

Especially in Murren. The location and the view will be incredible. I’ve been to and skied the Swiss Alps not far from there. The whole country is unbelievably beautiful. This trip covers so much different geography. It will be awesome.

I'm glad Jill's got FOMO too!

I'll just jump in and say my intent on my long ago 21 day BOE was never to nap on the bus....because, well...scenery! Well, that turned out to be my "down time". I don't think I snored, haha.

I did make a grave error in Monterosso al Mare in Cinque Terre. I had a Bellini (Prosecco and peach puree) for LUNCH on the free day. It was hot. I was at Miky's Cantina right on the beach and I was toast afterward. I'm not much of a drinker but wow, I needed a nap after that, hahaha!

I know all of you will have fun 14 or 21 day! So much to see and do!

Hi there, I just found this post. I will be on this tour with you. It's my first time in Europe so I'm very excited also. Trying to fine tune my packing list and read all that I can. How are your preparations coming? When will you arrive in Rome?
