Best of England Tour: Glastonbury Tor?

Does the Best of England tour allow time to climb up to the Glastonbury Tor?

No. You see Glastonbury Tor from the bus while traveling on the road. Your guide will point it out as you go by.

You will then travel into the center of the town, Glastonbury, where the group will exit the bus at Glastonbury Abbey. You will see the museum in the small admissions building, then walk out into the Abbey ruins. Be sure to see the plot of land that claims to have been the burial place of King Arthur there.

The group has a picnic lunch beneath the shelter there, then back onto the bus.

You will not have enough time to walk to the Tor if you stay with the tour.
However, if you ask your tour guide ahead of time, you may be able to take a quick look at the Abbey and then do the 10 to 15 minute walk to the Tor (and then a 30-minute climb up to the top, 20 minutes back down) instead of having the picnic lunch under the shed with the group.

This is not an activity that is planned for the group, but your leader may approve if you want to leave the group and then be back in time for the bus to take off. That would be the key; permission from your leader and do be prompt about coming back so the group can board the bus and leave at the appointed time.

We did the Best of England tour last spring (2018).

Thanks. I hear it's a bit of an uphill trek so that may not be a bad thing.
