Belgium and Holland tour April 21

I know most tour members don’t know about this forum, but thought I’d give it a shot. Anyone joining us on this tour? It will be our 5th RS tour. Particularly looking forward to Keukenhof!

Any veterans of this tour have any tips? We’re spending a few days in London before the tour, and would welcome pointers there, too. So much to see!

Priscilla, this is a great tour. It's changed a bit since we took it; it used to start in Brussels with Ghent as a day trip. Beer, art, and chocolate; what's not to like!

Hi Priscilla - We took this tour in april 2016. It was one that changed after the Belgium bombing where you don't go back into Brussels. We were to fly into Brussels and out of Amsterdam. Our flights changed into and out of Amsterdam, so we had to get the train to Brussels. We had planned to stay in Brussels for 3 days prior to start of our tour. Then catch the train to Ghent.
I have only been on three RS tours. This was one of my favorites along with the 14day Ireland. So much art, chocolate, waffles, museums. The Keukenhof gardens were so spectacular! Weather was cool, rainy until the end of the trip it warmed up. Loved Den Haag on a free afternoon in delft. Easy tram ride to Den Haag. Free day in Brugges (loved that city). Group stayed at Adorn hotel which had washers/dryer for us to do laundry. 10 of us used their bikes and rode along the canal to Damme. Hope you have a fantastic time. Try to go to Antwerp if you have a free time. Wish we made it there. Just wish this trip was a longer one than 11 days.

Priscilla,

I will be on this same tour. I am getting so excited that I leave in 28 days. I am coming two day early also, but I am arriving in Ghent on April 19. I am hoping to stop near Leiden on that day to take a bike tour of the tulip fields if the weather is good. I am flying into Amsterdam and taking the train to Ghent. This will be my third RS tour. As for London, there is so much to see. I would definitely go the Tower of London. I would consult one of Rick Steves' book on London to best plan your trip. I will be going to Brussels on the day after I arrive. I look forward to meeting you. Safe travels!
