Basque Country of Spain & France in 9 Days Tour

Is anybody going on the September 20 tour? Or if you've already been on this tour, any tips for getting from the Biarretz airport to the hotel in Bayonne?
This will be my first Rick Steves tour and I'm looking forward to it!

This was one of my favorite tours, but I didn't fly into Biarritz.
Just to help people's possible replies, the tour hotel is in Bayonne, correct?

Yes, it's Bayonne. Thank you - I've edited my post to make it clearer.
I'm glad to hear you liked it!

When I did this tour in 2018 I took a taxi from Biarritz airport to the hotel in Bayonne. I don’t remember the fare so it probably was not eye wateringly high.

Have you received your tour documents yet? They come to your tour account. We did this tour in May and if my memory is correct, the tour documents give directions on how to get to Bayonne after flying into Biarritz. Our arrival in Bayonne was at the Bayonne train station and we elected to take a taxi to the hotel. The weather wasn’t great that day and there had been several connections for us, but we could have walked from the station to our hotel. Which hotel is the tour hotel?

We had a great time on this tour. The weather wasn’t great, but that didn’t hinder us too much and we had a sunny day for our Camino walk. We really enjoyed the meals on this trip and the day in Pamploma was especially filling. Our arrival was a couple of days ahead, so we took the tram bus to Biarritz one day and enjoyed their water front. The itineraries can vary slightly from one guide to the next (we had Adrianna), but if you want anymore details I’m happy to answer any questions.

Thank you, Patty. I'll look at the tour documents again. I probably skipped over that detail when I first got them. The hotel is Mercure Bayonne Centre Le Grand Hotel. I don't know who the guide is but I'm sure it will be a good experience.

lauriebirt,
Yes, there's lots of good info in the tour documents.
Your guide's name is at the top of the Roster page.

Thanks, Liz - I found more documents when I looked again. My tour guide is Todd Hudnall.

City bus from the Biarritz airport to Bayonne. It’s not glamorous, but it’s easy, inexpensive and fast. Buy your tickets from the machine at the bus shelter. I think it’s the #4 bus. The bus depot in Bayonne is only two blocks from the Mercure hotel.

(We did the RS Basque tour in May. Our favorite of four RS tours).

Thank you, this is good information. I'm so glad you rated this tour so high - I hope it's the first of many RS tours.
